Freedom Quilt Squares

Our Class Freedom Quilt!
Took a few classes but everyone finally was able to complete their version of quilt square out of construction paper, using geometric shapes(squares, rectangles, triangles, circles). The students also used tea bags to "antique" the papers they are going to put their squares on along with a brief explanation in their words of the meaning. Hoping to put together our class quilt today using a photo of a replica quilt as a reference on the projector. They really liked the "antiquing" and were anxious to make sure they got back their own paper. Due to absences project is taking longer than anticipated but I think everyone shield be proud of their efforts so far. I put the replica picture quilt on the projector as a reference for them.  This morning everyone helped to place their square on the background choosing where they wanted to place theirs. They voted on the color background. We added two additional squares, Wagon Wheel and Drunkards Path.
