Compare/Contrast of Two Lexington Stories

On Thursday Nov 4th we did a compare contrast of the two stories Sam the Minuteman and George the Drummer Boy two stories about the confrontation between the British soldiers and the Militia men on Lexington village green on April 15th 1775. The students have a copy of Sam to refer to but have only heard the story of George read aloud. They did a terrific job of coming up with similarities an differences between the two viewpoints of the same event.Using their copy of Sam as a reference they remembered things from the George story that contrasted. I had a PowerPoint chart on the projector, and as they told me their information, I typed it in on the computer and they copied it onto their own paper version.Planning on continuing this week during English.
