Lesson Planning For Antebellum Course

Thinking about doing a lesson involving a picture book about Freedom quilts, the meaning of their symbols/patterns, tying in some math with flips, rotations and slides. Or maybe have the students chose a character from a painting of fugitive slaves and then write a brief explanation of their character which we can upload to Voice Thread as a class project. Will definitely use some piece of literature to build the lesson around.
