Colonial Recipes
After our follow up curriculum day at the national Heritage museum, I have been searching the web for colonial recipes to use to create my project for Making Freedom. Found a nice site Feeding America which has the Amelia Simmons cookbook I have been trying to get images from (see pages 17 and 18). It is in this cookbook that Amelia first suggests pairing a Stuffed Turkey with cranberry sauce as well as mashed potatoes. Also found another website What's Cooking-A Colonial Recipe. Trying to get a feel for how I want to set up my lesson plan so keep looking for activities I can tailor to suit my needs. Also a good site from Fitchburg State University
