Militia training and tactics, Old North Bridge and walking the Battle Road conflict sites

Great day learning about the way that the militia trained, how they fired their muskets and how frustrating it must have been! Lots of fun when we tried to perform the maneuvers with our wooden muskets! Loved during the activity Who Fired the First Shot at the Old North Bridge. It was a great thinking connection and use of primary source accounts of what actually took place according to the int of view of both British and Militia.Walking the Battle Road was very informative. i could almost imagine being one of the companies of militia who were tracking the redcoats as they made their way back to Boston being fired upon from behind the trees and rocks.
