Lexington Green, Hancock/Clark House, Museum of Our Natinal Heritage

What a great day! Day Two of our course. Loved our visit with Alex Cain, and his talk on Lexington Green about what took place on April 19th on the Green.Hey even the training band members wore fanny packs back then! Interesting the different stories we heard from various people during the day from the interpreters at the historic buildings and our training band member. Speaks to the Historical Benchmark about An understanding of historical debate and controversy. Also the various personal accounts of the families we learned about let us feel historical empathy for them. For my project, thinking about doing a variation of the activity that was presented to us by Polly at the Museum of Our National heritage after viewing their Exhibit Sowing the Seeds of Freedom. Good visual learning activity for my students, lower cognitive level which i can enhance with perhaps some miniature versions of the articles the students might barter for.
